illy Coffee spot, not stain for Coca-Cola and artistic Image.

August 17th, 2010

The Coca-Cola Company and illycaffè Spa finalize Joint Venture, launch premium ready-to-drink espresso-based coffee beverages.

I just finished shooting an illy coffee spot with Artistic Image and the 5D Mark II. Ed Dye at ai contacted me 2 weeks ago about being the director of photography on a video for illy coffee that Ken Soons was directing and editing for their client Coca-Cola. So Ken Soons and I embarked on a gorilla style bare bones 5d gala in the Georgia heat.

Ballroom Scene Staring Puddles and his Pity Party.

July 26th, 2010

This is some footage from a short that I started shooting here in Atlanta. Brad Kaye edited this together for Puddles Pity Party to use on his website.

I was asked to be the director of photography by Keith Roberts a budding local director. We are shooting in several locations around Atlanta, and working with some real talented people. Big Mike Geier has a starring role, as does the ever talented Michael Laurino. Both gentleman are true professionals that are a pleasure to work with on set. We have shot for 3 days, so more to come in the near future.

This entire spot was shot on the Canon 5D MK II. I love this camera, it so great to be able to shoot full HD with a camera that is so familiar. The 5D MK II has become a real asset commercially because it allows me  to photograph for print, and seamlessly move to shooting digital film spots with the same equipment and same set up. The HDSLR is really revolutionizing the industry, and it is here to stay.
